Roles and permissions
How workspace roles and per-client roles decide who can see and do what.
Updated 12 September 2026
Praktor has two layers of roles: workspace roles that apply across your whole workspace, and client roles that apply to individual clients. Someone’s abilities come from the combination of the two.
Workspace roles
Everyone in your workspace has one of three roles:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control. Owners are the only ones who can manage billing, add or promote admins and other owners, and dissolve the workspace, plus everything an admin can do. |
| Admin | Runs the workspace day to day: create and delete clients, invite and remove members, manage settings, and view the audit log. Admins can’t manage billing, and can’t invite or promote anyone above member. |
| Member | Has no workspace-wide powers on their own. A member’s access comes entirely from the clients they’re added to. |
Owners and admins can see every client in the workspace automatically, and act as a manager on any of them, and never need to be added to a client’s team.
Client roles
On each client’s team, a person has one of three roles:
| Role | What they can do on that client |
|---|---|
| Manager | Runs the client: full control of logs (including delete and import), the client’s team, and its settings; uses the assistant; exports data. |
| Editor | Contributes: create, edit, reprocess and import logs; upload voice notes; use the assistant; export. Can’t delete logs or change the team or settings. |
| Viewer | Read-only: read logs and insights, use the assistant, and export. Can’t upload voice notes or change anything. |
Being on a client’s team at any role gives you read access to that client.
Job titles are not permissions
On a client’s team you can also give someone a job title (“Relationship Manager”, “Account Executive”). This is just a label shown next to their name. It doesn’t change what they can do. Their client role (manager, editor or viewer) is what controls access. Each client can also have one primary contact; setting a new one replaces the previous.
